October 2003
On the road for a month already. The time flies by so quickly that I have lowered my travel speed. For the upcoming months, eek...weeks, Lesotho and the South-African coast are on the program. It's kind of starting out to the promised land of Cape town and surroundings.
I intend to go to Namibia mid-November. I think it would be nice to tour around this desert land for about 4 weeks. Etosha, the Skeleton Coast and the dunes are the main attractions. As the finale, to break out of the habit, however possible that is...
After that, we are already way down in December and it will be high time to arrange a ticket back to the Netherlands. Of course, the whole world wants to fly home around christmas, so we'll have to see if there will be an empty seat available for me on one of the planes.
And after that?
That is THE million dollar question for 2004. Who knows, can tell me. I don't know. And, I preferably keep it like that for now. Not everything in life has to be planned. There has to be something to wish for, just to refer to one of many Dutch norms and merits. In the end I am also referring back to Godfried Bomans:
I am sitting behind the window
being incredibly bored.
I wished that I were two little dogs, because then...
I could play together.
September 2002
`Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?'
`That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,' said the
Cat. `I don't much care where--' said Alice. `Then it doesn't matter
which way you go,' said the Cat. `--so long as I get SOMEWHERE,'
Alice added as an explanation.`Oh, you're sure to do that,' said
the Cat, `if you only walk long enough.'

After 10 months in Azia and 2 months back home it was time to go
again. A now continent is calling, maybe even two. Below the new
Itinerary and a new motto:
Do not be afraid of going slowly
Be afraid only of standing still

August 2002
As you can see, there is enough room for changing dates. Plan is
to buy a transpacific ticket in Bankok with the following stop-overs:
Bankok - Jakarta - Sydney - Auckland - Nadi (Fidji) - Rarotonga
(Cook-Islands) - Papeete (Tahiti) - Los Angeles.
Easter-Island has some kind of magic influence on me. The statues
somehow intrigue me. Another reason is that I read a story somewhere
with the heading: 'Easter Island, the navel of the world'. Taken
the fact that I really don't like navels, Easter Island is a 'must'.
In LA I will descide if it's been enough (maybe I've already descided
that after 3 weeks in India) or that I will go to South-America.
Who knows?
In the mean while I've bought a one-way ticket to Delhi. I'm leaving
on Sunday september 16, at 13:25. I fly Air France to Paris and
from there with Air India to Delhi. Can you imagine me at 6:00 am
in the morning at the airport of Delhi. From what I heard it is
one big area of asfalt, three chairs and a cola vending-machine...
