Ain't no mountain high enough
After a couple of days in Udaipur I have taken the bus (yes, we won't be beaten yet!)
to Mount Abu. This is a small mountain village which is famous for its nature and cool
temperature. That had to be something! The bus ride wasn't too bad, but after 5 hours of
reeling through the mountains I had really had it. Fortunately, all the people who were
vomitting were seated behind me; this does make a difference with all open windows in the
bus. Before you know it you'll be splashed under by the man or woman in front of you. I've
grown used to a lot of things during this trip, but I don't want to add this to my list of
experiences yet.
Once outside and checked in, I wanted to go for a meal with my 'bus friend' Matthew. But
I could not eat at all. It wasn't so much his fault (he was really not that bad!), but my
stomach's - it was completely upset. 'Delhi belly' is what it's called here and it means
that your food spurts out of your stomach instead of it using the peristaltic movements of
your bowels and the force of gravity. One has to experience this once in a lifetime, hasn't
one?
